Embodies what we try to accomplish here at Cherokee Copper, it is eye-catching, simple classy, and yet traditional in design. The necklace is inspired by the work done by Sequoyah who developed the Cherokee writing system.
Prior to Sequoyah, Cherokee was an oral language. Within a few months of introducing the script, the tribe was literate. Books were translated into Cherokee and tribes members were writing and reading.
We engrave a complete sheet of copper, with the Cherokee Syllabary, After engraving, we hand punch the circles which are shaped to give them a convex dome. Our full-size necklace is made up of nine graduated discs ranging in size from 1" -2".
